The Swan Hills Fire Department (SHFD) re-sponded to a fully involved vehicle fire 17 km south of Swan Hills on Wednesday (Sept. 29). The vehicle driver was travelling along Hwy 32 when they noticed that the vehicle was starting to smoke. They were able to safely turn off the high-way, park and exit the vehicle, and then call emergency services.

The SHFD received the call around 5:40 PM. The vehicle had ignited and was engulfed in flames when firefighters  arrived, but they were able to get the fire under control within about 10 minutes. There were no injuries; the vehicle itself was the only casualty in this incident.

Thank you, Swan Hills Fire Department members, for always being ready to respond in an emergency to keep the Swan Hills area safe.
