With five seasons behind Rick and Morty’s wacky adventures, it’s safe to say the series has devoted following admiring rude humour and chemistry between mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his nice grandson Morty Smith. But, unfortunately, they share almost no standard features other than bloodline.
The series grew from an animated parody on Back to the future, which you can tell just by looking at the characters, but there is much more behind the show than connection with role models. Rick and Morty go through various dimensions and adventures once, but unlike Doc and Marty, they do not travel through time.

Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, co-creator of the show, are huge fans of Doctor Who and Farscape. Roiland confirmed they said to the song author to create a theme with a synth vibe and sound similar to the shows mentioned above.
What Does Rick Have in the Flask?
A level above mad scientist is an alcoholic and crazy, and the lines between madness and intoxication become blurry. One of the items Rick carries with him all the time is his flask. The content of the flask has been the point of discussion among fans and on internet forums. Dan Harmon said on Reddit that “Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster” is, in fact, vodka or that he envisions Rick sipping this hard liquor.
Spin-off, Games, Merch
Like any decent animated TV show, Rick and Morty created a whole ecosystem of merchandise, but it also inspired new shows and video games. You can buy action figures, though they hardly look like action heroes. Rick and Morty’s shirts are popular items, and there is a slew of other goods available.
The Vindicators is an official spin-off animated show based on characters from early seasons. The show will follow the adventures of an intergalactic superhero team with characters like Supernova, Vance Maximus, Alan Rails, Cocubot and
Noob Noob.
So far, the best video game is Rick and Morty Virtual Rick-Ality, as a virtual reality title with loads of the show’s unique humour. Pocket Mortys is the somewhat less successful title. Another show-inspired product is in igaming.
Developers created Rick and Morty Wubba Lubba Dub Dub slot game. Slot lovers can find such games under this link. Blueprint Gaming inserted symbols from the show, and the slot game has the usual features like 20-paylines and bonus rounds.
Accidental Burp Became Intentional
Alcoholic Rick’s character has numerous disgusting habits, and one of the trademarks is burping. His signature burp came as an accident during the voice-over of “The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti” when Justin Roiland burped, and it took off as a part of the future Rick Sanchez character.
Hot Sauce Re-introduction
Rick and Morty had a considerable influence on the fast-food industry in the US, after the show’s fans demanded re-introduction of McDonald’s Szechuan Sauce because of The Curious Case of the Szechuan Sauce episode. Finally, the global food chain listened to the fans and had reappearance of the sauce.
